Mental Health America in Allen County (formerly Mental Health Association in Allen County) has been in existence for over 40 years. It is an advocate agency, existing to speak on behalf of those suffering from mental illness, mental retardation/developmental delay, and chemical dependency. It provides mental health education for the community, volunteer services, and assistance to clients and their families. MHA stands ready to help families and clients access counseling/treatment facilities and other sources of solution.

A Board of Directors governs the Association. They include individuals who represent the medical/psychiatric field, law enforcement, business, clergy, attorneys, social services, consumers and interested citizens.

Mental Health America in Allen County is a chapter of Mental Health America in Indiana and the National Mental Health America and it is a partner agency of United Way in Allen County.
