Throughout the past year. MHA in Allen County has given lectures, workshops and seminars for many different organizations on mental health issues. Booths and displays were also erected at several community events. Radio and television programs, newspaper articles and the M.H.A. quarterly newsletter, OUTREACH, have all contributed to keeping the public aware of mental health issues and area resources.
Professional Educational Activities
Specialized seminars, workshops and in-service training have also been provided for medical-legal personnel. These have included classes for local and area law enforcement officers, training new recruits and specialized training for Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) officers so that they may recognize people suffering from mental illness or addiction to drugs and alcohol.
