Mental Health America in Allen County held its Annual Meeting on May 7, 2007 at the Marriott Hotel with John S., a Fort Wayne businessman who is an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, as the featured speaker. John told of his years of constant abuse of alcohol and the many difficulties he encountered in his professional, business and personal life. He recounted the situations which finally convinced him that he was powerless over alcohol. A short business meeting preceded the speaker. The Honorable Judge David Avery, Allen Superior Court, received the Outstanding Service Award for his service to the mental health community in Allen County.
