Every year Mental Health America in Allen County participates in the annual Christmas Gift Lift project. Many community volunteers purchase gifts or fill stockings with toiletries for area residents who suffer from mental illness or developmental delay and who live in local nursing homes, independent living programs, Easter Seals ARC, AWS, Park Center and other group homes and for people who are in psychiatric departments of the local hospitals over the holidays. The gifts are sorted and delivered by MHA staff and volunteers. Monetary donations are also accepted.

2010 Christmas Gift Lift was a Success!!

Mental Health America in Allen County would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2010 Christmas Gift Lift. Each year this project serves those who live with mental illness and the developmentally delayed Adult Guardianship Clients MHA serves. Special thanks goes to Fran Headings, Phyllis Beets, Peg Larson, Chris Voors, The Murdock Family, The Glassley Family, Bishop Dwenger volunteers, Home School 4-H wrappers, North Leo Mennonite Church, Alpha Theta Tau Sorority, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Epiphany Lutheran Church, Sara Jane's Yarn Shop, Fort Wayne Education Association, Lutheran Health Services, the Five Friends, Park Center, and the many, many more volunteers who purchased a gift or sent a donation. We want to give a special thanks to IPFW for the use of their facility where gifts were processed. MHA served 1060 individuals this past holiday season. MHA would like to thank you on behalf of those who cannot always speak for themselves.
